Michael Ward has over 25 years of progressive business experience spanning accounting, finance, marketing, strategic planning and executive leadership positions.  As a former partner with a Washington, DC, based accounting firm, he has overseen the provision of accounting and advisory services to a variety of nonprofit and small business clients with annual budgets from less than $1 million to more than $30 million per year as well as tax services to nonprofits, small to medium-sized businesses, and individuals.  In addition to overseeing accounting and controllership functions for his clients, he has also provided support as an outsourced Chief Financial Officer.

Michael was previously the President and CEO of the Lt. Joseph P. Kennedy Institute, an organization providing services to children and adults with developmental disabilities in Washington, DC.  The Institute had an annual budget of $14 million and served over 500 people each day through 15 different programs with over 200 employees.  He became the CEO of the organization following a period as a consulting CFO to assist in a turnaround of the accounting and financial functions of the organization.

He has additional public accounting experience with Touche Ross (predecessor firm to Deloitte) and Price Waterhouse (predecessor firm to PricewaterhouseCoopers) and worked for more than five years in marketing and finance roles with MCI Telecommunications.
