Darren has more than 15 years of tax experience, largely working with corporations and flow-through entities.  Darren’s clients consist of middle market businesses and large multi-nationals.  He has significant experience with manufacturing and distribution companies and complex structures.

Darren has assisted numerous companies with their international expansion plans, restructuring, integration, repatriation, and exit strategies.  Darren’s experience includes assisting in the development of tools for performing foreign tax credit optimizations; seeking letter rulings from the National Office of the IRS; representing taxpayers before the IRS; identifying a significant phantom tax gain in the hundred of millions of dollars and assisting the client in properly deferring that gain; identifying a significant interest expense deduction under the OID rules; and working with the fair market value election for foreign tax credit purposes.

Prior to joining Argy, Darren’s experience includes international accounting firms practicing in their international tax departments as well as boutique firms providing largely tax only services.  In addition, Darren is an adjunct professor of graduate tax courses at Seton Hall University.  Darren has presented to the New Jersey chapter of Tax Executives Institute on both international tax issues and merger and acquisition issues.
